Juvenile arrested for attempted murder

Woodland police arrested a youth on attempted murder and other charges following a shooting that left a man injured, police reported Friday.

According to Sgt. Dallas Hyde, officers were summoned at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday to Woodland Memorial Hospital, where the victim sought treatment for a gunshot wound he said was inflicted in the 100 block of Buckeye Street.

“A suspect vehicle was identified and later found driving in the area. The vehicle was stopped and the sole occupant, a male juvenile, was detained,” Hyde said.

The youth, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was booked into Yolo County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at an occupied dwelling, brandishing a weapon and gang enhancements, Hyde said.
