VCE makes key new hire

Valley Clean Energy announced last week the hiring of Rebecca Boyles as its new director of customer care and marketing. In this position, she is responsible for all customer touch points, including outreach, marketing, programs, key accounts and customer policy development.

Boyles joins Valley Clean Energy after spending four years in progressively responsible positions in customer care and billing operations at MCE (formerly Marin Clean Energy). Additional leadership experience includes chairing the Billing Operations and Customer Care Committee for CalCCA, the statewide community choice energy association, as well as directing social media for the communications team at the Women’s Environmental Network.

Prior to working in the utilities sector, Boyles focused on stakeholder engagement at Future 500, a nonprofit that advises Fortune 500 companies on sustainable business practices and community relations.

She holds an MBA in sustainable management from Presidio Graduate School.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rebecca Boyles to Valley Clean Energy,” said Don Saylor, VCE board chair and a Yolo County supervisor. “She comes to us with extensive experience and knowledge of customer care and outreach, and has a deep knowledge of community choice energy programs.”

VCE Interim General Manager Mitch Sears added, “Since the community choice model is evolving quickly, we were pleased to find someone with Rebecca’s talent and experience for this important position who can hit the ground running. We know she will be a great asset to the VCE team and our customers.”

Boyle said she finds it “exciting to join an agency that has a mission I fully support. I am proud and enthusiastic about promoting VCE’s goals of providing clean energy, local control, investment in the community and customer choice.”

Valley Clean Energy is Yolo County’s community choice aggregator, dedicated to providing clean, safe, reliable and affordable electricity to its 54,000 customers in the cities of Woodland and Davis as well as the unincorporated area of the county.

The city of Winters is VCE’s newest member, set to start service early next year.
