Late Japanese poet featured in reading

Davis Poet Laureate James Lee Jobe continues his online poetry reading series on Friday, July 24, with the poems of Japanese poet Nanao Sakaki, who lived from 1923 to 2008.

Sakaki was a wandering poet in the tradition of Basho and Ikkyu, and his poetry is a mixture of tight language and startling expressiveness.
