Acme plans online readings

Acme Theatre Company plans two readings on Saturday, July 18, at acmetheatre.net.

“The Boy Who Cried Dragon” begins at 2 p.m.

Everyone has had it with Travis and his tall tales — his teachers, his schoolmates and even his mom. When Travis is given time off (via a school suspension), the park becomes his school-away-from-school. He has everything he needs: books, a calculator, a dragon. Dragon?!

How can this notorious fibber get anyone to believe him? Based on the fable “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” this story of a boy and his dragon is told with humor — and with a much happier ending.

“This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing” begins at 7 p.m.

Three young sisters are left in a forest by their woodcutter father and forced to find their own way in the world. From this fairytale beginning, three resolutions are made — one sister walks one way to find purpose, one to find adventure and the third stays right where she is to create a 凯发体育官方sporthome.

Years later, having circumnavigated the globe and fought Vikings, crossed oceans, tamed wilds and achieved greatness, the three sisters meet again as women.

Both shows are family-friendly. Register to become an audience member at acmetheatre.net.
